The Presidential
Slurpee

We never thought that one day we’d work on a project for the President of the United States, but in 2010, that’s exactly what happened. President Obama kept making references to 7-11’s signature drink: the Slurpee. He mentioned it so often, CBS News’ Mark Knoller joked that Democrats and Republicans should have a “Slurpee Summit” to work through their issues.

The Challenge

7-11 saw this as a great opportunity, so they came to us, saying they needed a high-end, decorative box. They were making President Obama a special, hand-blown crystal Slurpee cup and straw, and they wanted to deliver it to him in three days.

So we’re stuck trying to figure out how we’re going to find a box that’s fit for the President of the United States. Then, we find one that’s meant for one of those Native American full-bodied statues that looked like the right size.

The Solution

We took that and embellished it with a purple velvet interior and dressed up the outside. Our client sent us the Slurpee cup, which was adorned with “Slurpee Summit 2010” art, and it fit perfectly in the box we made.

In just three days we were able to send President Obama his “Slurpee Summit” glass. All he had to do was go to 7-11 to fill it up. Unfortunately, we couldn’t send him a full cup; we’re only so good, after all.
